Save your Box Tops from all General Mills products and other participating products. Turn them into the boxes located near your children's classrooms for HMC to earn money.

We offer monthly Scholastic Book Order forms for your family to order books. They are generally excellent prices, and the school earns points toward new books. It is totally optional, but a great way to get your family reading!

Each fall, HMC hosts a Scholastic Book Fair. It's a great way to shop for gifts for Christmas. Watch for the dates!

In October, we learn about Fire Prevention with a visit from the local Fire Department. We get to climb on the fire truck and shoot water from a real fire hose! They also bring their fire gear and let us see and touch it.

Individual and class pictures are taken each year. Parents may view pictures before purchasing them. No purchase is necessary.

The Original Works fundraiser uses an art project created at school by your child and offers you quality products with that artwork on it for purchase. Items include coffee mugs, t-shirts, water bottles, notecards and more. www.originalworks.com

In November, HMC and Patuxent Presbyterian Church participate in the Operation Christmas Child program run by Franklin Graham's Christian relief organization, Samaritan's Purse. Shoeboxes are filled with small items such as toys and hygiene items to be sent around the world to countries where children may not otherwise receive a Christmas gift. This organization shares the love of Christ with families all over the world. www.samaritanspurse.org

We go on a variety of field trips and programs each year. The entire school goes to a Pumpkin Farm in October. The 3s and/or PreK also take various trips, which may vary each year but often include, Calvert Marine Museum and caroling at the senior apartments. We also have a variety of in house field trips where special guests come see us. We welcome staff from St. Mary's City for their Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes program. Dentists and naturalists also visit. Our pastors visit the classes to talk about Easter and Christmas.
